Mint a very common herb is known to people since years. Mint biological terms is known as "mentha" and in common language is known as "pudina". We are aware of the refreshing part of mint, but it offers alot of health benefit s too.

Mint is a universal and a very soothing flavor, which has been used for curing disorders over centuries. Mint also has a terrific smell and it is as popular as grape, cherry or lemon flavors are which has been used for curing disorders over centuries.

Health Benefit and uses of Mint Leaves (pudina)


  • cures stomach upsat

Mint is a powerful antioxidant and it helps in the digestion of food. Antioxidants are capable of terminating the reactions by eliminating free radical intermediates. It helps the digestive system to fasten the process of digestion.an infussion of the leaves is used in doses 1-2 tsp thrice a day. 

  • prevents headache

The strong and refreshing smell of mint acts as a quick remedy reducing the headache.crushed mint leaves when applied to your forehead relieves headache and makes you feel fresh.



  • helps in prevention of cancer

Research shows that mint is helpful in keeping body protected from various types of cancers. It is said that the enzymes which are present in mint helps in prevention of cancer. The cancers which can be prevented by adding mint in your diet is - skin cancer and lung cancer. 



  • helps your teeth becomes white

Your teeth become white when you chew fresh mint leaves for a while at least once or twice a week.



  • can treat arthritis

take some some fresh leaves and heat on low flame.pound them apply on the painful joints or muscles,when still warm

the strong aroma of mint helps in prevention of Asthma and cough. Using mint in the daily diet is advantageous for asthma patients. Boil 6 tablespoon of chopped leaves in 2 glasses of water,for 15 minutes. cool and strain.divide the decoction into 3 parts and consume 3 times a day.

mint plays a significant role in alleviating swollen gums,mouth ulcers and toothaches.soak 2 tablespoon of chopped leaves in a hot glass water for 30 minutes and strain.use the infusions as a mouthwash.

add a handful of crushed mint leaves, a teaspoon of dry ginger powder , and half teaspoon each black pepper ,2 cups of water.boil the solution until it reduces to half.finally strain the liquid, divide it into three equal parts and drink it three times in a day.

  • stimulating period pain

mint leave also useful in stimulating menstruation in those suffering from period pain.

  • excellent antiseptic 

Mint juice is an excellent antiseptic and is a good skin cleanser. It is known for curing many infections and soothing the skin.


Mint juice

ingredients
1/5 cups mint leave
sugar according to your taste
2 cup of water
3-4 tbsp lemon juice
ice cubes

Method
remove mint from stem
rinse in water for a couple of times
blender all the mint leaves,sugar with 1/2 cup of water
strained the mix
add balance water
stir with lemon juice
add ice serve chilled

What do you need:
  • 1/2 cup Cucumber solid parts (without juice)
  • 1/4 cup of finely chopped fresh Mint leaves
  • fresh Water

How to do it:
Wash the cucumber and cut it into pieces. Put these in a food processor and really mash them. Pour it through a clean piece of cloth (called straining) and throw the juice away, just keep the solid parts. You need 1/2 cup of this
Put these cucumber solids together with a bit of fresh water in a pan and warm it up over a slow fire (you could also use your microwave of course…about 4 minutes.) Then add the chopped mint leaves, stir and continue to heat it (if you use a microwave, about 5 minutes on medium strength)
Take it off the heat source and let the cucumber mint mix cool down until it is cool enough to apply
Spread this gently and equally with your fingertips on your clean face and neck: keep the eye area clear
Now lie down, relax and leave the mask on for 15 minutes
Then wash it off with cold water; pat your skin dry with a clean towel

note:-  Try to take as a juice or add in your  food at least once a week to control pimples on your skin .
